| PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) offers excellent corrosion and weather resistance. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is a good electrical and thermal insulator. PVC is also self-extinguishing per UL flammability tests. PVC may be used to temperatures of 140F (60C) and is readily available in sheets, rods, and tubing. PVC may be cemented, welded, machined, bent and shaped readily. The most common advantages of PVC are: (1) Corrosion resistant to a wide range of alkalis and acids; (2) Heat resistant in addition to maximum corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures; (3) Self-extinguishing and will not support combustion; and (4) Good electrical insulation properties. | ||||||||||||||||||||

| CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride) exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of alkalis and acids, and is highly heat resistant. An easily fabricated engineering plastic, CPVC can be thermo-formed, threaded, riveted, and can be bonded and welded. CPVC is used in numerous industries: Chemical processing, metal anodizing and finishing, waste treatment, including gas scrubbing. Common applications include: Bushings, spacers, valves, pipe fittings, liners, plating tank insulators, drip racks, self-supporting tanks and rollers. UPVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride) is characterized by great chemical inertia and is attacked solely by strong oxidizing agents such as concentrated nitric and sulphuric acids and also by aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketones, esters, and amines. However it is resistant to most other organic liquids as well as concentrations of liquid saline solutions. Flammability UPVC will burn in flame but since chlorine is a constituent it will extinguish itself immediately upon removal of flame. Heat Resistance: The temperature range of UPVC is between 250-280F. At this temperature the material resembles resilient rubber. UPVC sheets will shrink approximately 2-3% in the longitudinal direction, and 1% in the traverse direction, with the thickness increasing slightly. Common applications include linings for tanks, exhaust hoods and stacks, sulfuric acid equipment plating vessels. UPVC is used widely in the photographic industry for developing tanks and other apparatus. UPVC pipe is now being used for draining, sewers and plumbing in construction of homes and industrial buildings. Sizes UPVC Sheets (4’ x 8’): 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 1, 1.25, 1.5, 1 3/4, 2” UPVC Rod 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10”. |
